I feel that Anna Quindlen's purpose was to get the point across that material things aren't as important as everybody thinks that they are, and sometimes it can cause you downfall. She felt that a solution could be to try and live inside our means instead of always spending all of our money on things that we don't even need. I totally agree with this I feel that people now days are spending money that they don't have which is putting them in debt and causing people to lose sight of what is truly important, and that is being healthy and happy.
One time I knew this girl who always spent money on things she didn't really need, but she was always charging her cards which was causing her to go into debt. Now even when shes borrowing money to pay her bills she still lives outside of her means though not as badly as she was before. People just don't realize now days what is truly important in life and that is having a roof over your head and a dry place to sleep, and also to be healthy and happy in your life. I think that it is sad that people have let material things like cell phones and i pods blind them from what is more important.
I think you answered the prompt correctly; your blog was straight to the point. There could have been more detail, but I understood exactly what you were saying. You used good descriptive words and were able to set a tone for the reader. I liked how you were able to get your point across clearly without any confusion. I think everyone at one point will learn from their mistakes and hopefully your friend will before she’s into too much debt. I know it’s hard for woman to stop spending money sometimes; but with age comes maturity and then everything will fall into place.
